Mukul Bikash is a primary school for children aged 3-10 in Makardah, Howrah.
Dr Sakti Das introduced us to the principal Smt Santa Datta and asked me to help with adding a library facility.
Loved the school and the ambience. Very much reminded me of my school days in Santiniketan. Santa di and her mother Smt Maitreyi Datta has been running this school tirelessly through all the challenges of COVID times.
Ended up building and delivering 3 projects and enjoyed every moment through the process. A few benches for the library room, a 4x5 blackboard with custom steel stand, and a two seater swing. The swing was a challenge to build, keeping transportation in mind. Also a bit over engineered to keep the base flange bolts above ground to minimize corrosion.
The overall experience to build/deliver/install was out of this world. The kids and school staff were super happy. Can't imagine a better way to spend my time in India. Looking forward to more projects in the future.
